Your GP can email your referral directly to SherryB Psychology
Complete and pay for your session
Book your session with Sherry via the online booking system and wait for confirmation. After your session you will be charged your session fee. $96.65 of this fee will be rebated through the software management system. All session fees need to be paid on the day of the session and prior to your next session.
Receive rebates back to your bank account
Once the software system submits your claim, it will be processed by Medicare and you will receive the rebate back into your account (unless you are a Bulk-billed client)
What are the Medicare benefits for Psychology Sessions with SherryB Psychology?
Access to Medicare Benefits
With access to Medicare Benefits, you can save up to $96.65 per session.
For private paying clients the maximum gap fee for a 50-minute session is $123.35.
You can access up to 10 rebated sessions per calendar year. SherryB Psychology provides concessions for individuals who meet eligibility criteria (including: MHCP, Health Care Cards, Pensioners, students).

What are the steps to access rebated sessions?
As everyone's mental health journey is different, it is up to you to keep track of your mental Health Plan and make sure it is up to date to access your rebates. To help make this easy as possible, here are the steps to rebated sessions
Your referral will not provide access to all 10 eligible sessions at once. You or your child will have regular referral check-ins with your GP to top up for plan and check in on your progress. This pathway looks like this.
To access Medicare rebates,
you will need to have
a valid Medicare card.
You will also need to get

a referral letter and a

Mental Health Plan from your GP before you attend your session to acces Medicare rebates.
You can get your Mental health Plan from the comfort of your own home using an online platform that offers bulk billing.
Or from your regular GP.

Just make sure your
Mental Health Plan apointment
with your GP
is completed
ahead of your first session.
Can I use my Mental Health Care Plan to see a different psychologist?
You can choose your own Psychologist
YES you can.
Mental Health Care Plans are transferrable.
If your current Mental Health Care Plan was issued with the name of a clinic or psychologist different to the one you wish to see, that is OK.
Alternatively, you can ask your GP to reissue your referral with your new psychologist’s name
Am I eligible for bulk-billed sessions or a concession ?
SherryB Psychology knows how important it is to get access to mental health support, when and where you need it the most. That's why SherryB provides bulk-billed sessions to those with a valid Medicare card living in Australia and who meets certain criteria.
Psychological Therapy Fees – Privately Funded
From 01/01/2025
The Australian Psychological Society’s (APS) 2024 recommended fee for a standard Psychology consultation is $311 (45-60 min) and $383 for an extended consultation (61-75 min).

Concession Rates

to determine eligibility for Concession Rates or Payment Plans
Letters, forms, and reports(outside of required Medicare letters).
These are letters to school personnel, other allied health professionals etc. are charged at the usual hourly rate plus GST.
Payment
Consultation fees are due on the day of your visit. Payment methods include Debit & Credit Cards, Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), PayID, Direct Debit and BPay.
