  • What if I have an emergency out of hours?
    Additional support is available? SherryB Psychology is not a 24/7 emergency support or counselling centre. If you are in need of immediate support please contact 000, or one of the support services listed below. ​ Lifeline Lifeline provides a free, 24-hour Telephone Crisis Support service in Australia. Volunteer Crisis Supporters provide suicide prevention services, mental health support, and emotional assistance, via telephone counselling, face-to-face contact, and online services. Phone: 13 1114 Online: : wwwlifeline.org.au Kids Helpline Kids Helpline provides free, confidential 24-hour counselling to young people aged 5-25 years. Counselling is offered by phone, email, and online. Phone: 1800 55 1800 Online: www.kidsline.com.au 1800 Respect 1800 Respect is a telephone counselling service and support line for anyone at risk of or who has experienced sexual assault, domestic and/or family violence. Family and friends are also able to contact 1800 Respect for assistance with how to deal with situations.   • How can you help my child or teen
    There are many factors involved in helping a child or teenager. This all depends on their age, presentation, strengths and difficulties, social and emotional well-being and impacts including developmental delays, learning difficulties, trauma exposure, ability to communicate verbally and even in relation to their type of attachment.
  • How can I book a service?
    Booking with SherryB Psychology is easy. Click on the online booking button which will take you to the booking portal. You can either book at 15 minute phone consultation or book a session by selecting the date and time of your preference. Alternatively, you can enter your details on the Contact Us menu on the website and we will endeavour to get back to you in 48 hours.
  • Do you collaborate with other specialists
    Sherry prides herself on her ability to provide support to her clients with a multidisciplinary approach. With third party consent forms completed by all parties, and in understanding issues of confidentiality, Sherry actively seeks a proactive and combined approach to enhance the health and wellbeing of her clients. Sherry is happy to engage with classroom teachers, principals, speech language therapists, occupational therapists, GP,s Paediatricians etc as the need arises and when requested.
  • Fees for standard session or out of hours appointment
    The APS National Schedule of Recommended Fees 2025-2026 has the standard 46 to 60-minute consultation fee of $318. An initial consultation session fee (90 minutes) $270. A standard session fee (50 minutes) of $220 for all clients as of 1st January, 2025. If you have an eligible Mental Health Plan, the government will provide you with a rebate or pay part of the costs for accessing psychological services for 10 sessions in a calendar year. If you see a Registered Psychologist, you will get back $98.95 as of 1st January, 2025. The total out-of-pocket expenses for a 50+ minute session with SherryB is $121.05 for a one hour session.
  • Medicate rebates for Psychology sessions
    If you wish to claim a rebate through Medicare, you will need: 1. A referral letter and a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP. 2. Make an appointment with your GP to discuss the issues you have been facing. 3. You may be eligible for up to 10 psychology counselling sessions per calendar year under the care plan. www.psychology.org.au/medicare/fact_sheet/
  • Private Health Fund Rebates
    If you belong to a private health fund, you may be able to claim a rebate for psychological services. The exact amount of the rebate will depend upon your level of cover, and the rebate varies between health funds. It is best to check with your fund for an exact per session rebate figure
  • Concession Fees
    Concession fees may apply based on your individual needs. Please contact SherryB to discuss your particular needs and Fee arrangement.
  • How can I access my therapy
    SherryB Psychology is happy to support clients with various modes of access. She offers face-to-face sessions, and Google Meet, Telephone and or chat. However, please be aware that all non face to face or Telehealth fees need to be paid in full and a receipt provided to support@sherrybpsychology.com.au within 24 hours prior to your session.
  • What is your Cancellation Policy
    Cancellation Policy Effective Date: July 1, 2023 Our clinic is dedicated to providing timely and effective mental health care. To ensure availability and better manage our psychologists’ schedules, we kindly ask our clients to follow the guidelines of our updated cancellation and rescheduling policy: 24-Hour Notice Requirement We require a minimum of 24-hour notice to reschedule or cancel an appointment. Please call us at 0409275359 between 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, to make any changes to your appointment. If your appointment is on a Monday, please notify us by the preceding Friday. Fees for Cancellation Less than 24-hour notice: If you cancel or fail to attend an appointment without providing at least 24-hour notice, you will be charged 100% of the usual fee. Less than 48-hour notice: If you cancel or reschedule an appointment with less than 48-hour notice, you will be charged 50% of the usual fee. Please be aware that most funding services such as Medicare, NDIS and private health insurers do not cover late cancellation or non-attendance fees. As the client, you would be responsible for these charges. Pre-paid Session Policy Pre-paid sessions are non-refundable. However, they can be transferred to a rescheduled appointment if you provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Communication Methods for Cancellations Please note that we can no longer accept cancellations or rescheduling requests via text or email. All changes to your appointment must be communicated by calling us at the number above during our business hours. We have updated our cancellation policy in line with recommendations from our peak psychology bodies (AAPi, APS). This ensures we can operate effectively as a small business and continue providing high-quality care. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with our new policy.
